First you may be wondering: Does thinking control my health?
Have you ever worried your self sick? Or had a worry stomach ache? Or a tension headache?
So, you do see the mind/body connection. It even goes deeper... like pyschyneuroimmunology! Your thinking controls your brain which controls your immune system which controls much of how you feel and function!
A study at Hull University asked 30 subjects to perform bicep curls and discovered their muscles worked more when the subjects focused on what they were doing. Their conscious thought influences their autonomic reactions.
Let me be very clear: It's not, however, our conscious mind which controls our health! It's our autonomic or subconscious mind that does this.
Conscious mind: the logical brain side, can influence how we work, but does not control it. Put this theory to the test by this question: How many liters of blood have you pumped through your heart today? What is your exact pH blood level? This is all controlled by the subconscious mind or autonomic nerve system. No one would make themselves sick or immune suppressed on purpose!
Subconscious mind: Controls your organ activity, cell activity, tissue activity and all the functions of your body which in summation equal your health!
The important question is then, How can I know what my subconscious mind is doing, and how do I influence it to control the organs, cells and tissues for the healthiest me?
This is the correct question for preparing you for future blogs, information on our website, future classes and workshops we offer and a lifetime of fun and health! Stay tuned!

What are you releasing?
I just received a question from a patient this morning asking what the "Release" does that we routinely perform on each patient before the adjustment.
Emotions, surgeries, falls, childbirth and even medicines can cause restrictions in our body, or fascia system. We have the ability to heal a certain number of these, however, with our modern day lifestyle and eating and things we encounter, many stay stuck in our body. Your neck pain or back pain or chronic hip catch could be stopped from healing due to a fascia constriction.
Our release procedure unwinds and relaxes this system and prepares the body for faster healing and ability to take the adjustment.

Pain is a consequence

Everyone wants freedom! We live in a free nation where we have many choices everyday. What to wear, where to go, what to do, what to eat... and on, the list of choices go. What we aren't fully aware, always, is how theses choices, yes, every one, add up to the person we are.
As a doctor of chiropractic wellness and an advocate of healthy choices, I witness the consequences of choices every day in my patients. Many come in with pain and they want me to help them - alleviate it and make it go away FOREVER! What many don't see, is that their lifestyle choices gave that consequence of pain to them as a teacher. See my website for the combination of western and eastern thinking in how we help people naturally. You'll also notice educating is a big part of what we offer people.
I love the movie Ghostbusters where the college student is trying to use ESP on differentiating the type of card Bill Murray is holding up. He guesses wrong and Bill Murray zaps him instantly! This is instant consequence. Pain, heart disease and other chronic issues are not this instant, but still very real consequences.
This blog is committed to you! As doctor means teacher, I want to teach. You may realize too, the teacher of anything tends to be the one learning right along with the students and I'm ready for that too! I welcome comments, suggestions and information on a light-filled and uplifting level.
I'll be discussing choices and consequences this month. I'll also give homework with every blog, as this is how we'll all experience a better life instantly from reading these blogs, without having to cut and paste and save and print for later reading.
Homework: Consider a pain you have in your life. Is it physical, emotional or chemical caused? What choices did you make to lead this consequence to manifest? And most importantly, what choices can you make right now, today, that will increase learning from this and naturally cause the consequence to be lessened or not needed any longer?
Choose the consequences you want then make the choices to lead you there!!
In love, health and happiness!
Dr. Carrie
